Position Overview

As an Environmental Services Director at Westhaven, you will manage the department, ensuring CMS and city requirements are met and documented, and ensuring accountability with staff. You will bond with our residents and make a difference in their lives. Our ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent customer service and time management skills.

Environmental Services Director Responsibilities
  • Effectively manage and lead a team, including setting clear expectations, ensuring accountability, and following through on performance goals.
  • Oversee housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance.
  • Communicate and build relationships with outside vendors to ensure contracted services are performed.
  • Manage Safety Committee.
  • Interact with health and safety inspectors to ensure the safety of all residents and staff.
  • Respond to emergencies on an on‑call basis.
  • Complete heavy janitorial/mantenance work as needed.
  • Perform other tasks as needed.
Environmental Services Director Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of building electrical systems, HVAC systems, boilers, plumbing, and water supply systems.
  • Knowledge of state, federal, and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively with others within an interdisciplinary team and professionally interact with residents, family members, staff, corporate leadership, and outside contractors.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Self‑motivated, able to work as a team leader/supervisor, and organize departmental goals and objectives.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests throughout the day.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds periodically.
  • Other activities include frequent kneeling, bending/stooping, and pushing/pulling to complete tasks throughout the day.
