Samaritan's Purse is seeking a Studio Producer to join our Broadcast department, working in Boone, NC
. As a Studio Producer, you will maintain and operate broadcast studio equipment, coordinate video productions, and produce live shots and podcast studio sessions as needed. You will also initiate and manage the production of webcasts, webinars, podcasts, live shots, and pre-recorded projects for posting on the ministry's websites, based on incoming requests to the Broadcast Department. Your work will support clear communication across the ministry and help deliver media content that serves our mission.

A day in the life of a Studio Producer

In the role of Studio Producer, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Perform general studio assignments, including lighting and lighting control board operation, camera set up and operation, audio, control room operations including Ultimatte, recording and switcher operation, regular maintenance and cleaning of the studios, and set construction to include lite carpentry and understanding of basic electrical systems.
  • Assist with the maintenance of equipment in studio, including cameras and attached accessories, audio equipment, set pieces, floor coverings, lighting, and grip equipment.
  • Provide technical video support for productions that take place in both the Broadcast and Podcast Studios, including live shoots, standups, and other video projects as requested.
  • Produce, either alone or in cooperation of other producers, from conception to final form, special project videos, overviews, promos, direct-response spots, news pieces, documentary-style stories, web videos, PSAs, and other writing and producing styles.
  • Collaborate with a Graphic Artist on development of needed graphics for the production.
  • Provide editing services for projects to be approved and delivered using the current Broadcast Department approval workflow.
  • Schedule crew and execute shoots, interviews, and other necessary pre-production tasks.
  • Lead assigned production studio staff to accomplish desired production as instructed by Producer, Production Manager, Creative Director, or Assistant Director of Studio Operations.
  • Assume the roles of floor director, studio shoot producer, associate producer, video switcher operator, and media wrangler as needed.
  • Support videographers as needed, and perform duties of the Studio Manager in their absence.
  • Work closely with Assistant Director of Studio Operations to develop new ideas for production, both creatively and technically.
  • Actively participate in brainstorming sessions. Research projects as assigned and assist others in researching for creative and technical aspects of studio production.
  • Communicate effectively with peers and people of other races, nationalities, religions, ethnic groups, and cultures.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four (4) year college or university and three (3) to five (5) years of related experience and/or training.
    • A relevant combination of education and experience would also be considered.
  • Thorough knowledge in live video production and broadcast control room workflows. Strong ability to direct and technical direct crews during live work. Solid understanding of video switchers, recorders, and graphic systems. Working knowledge of core production roles such as producing, audio engineering, and editing. Competent in editing with the in-house system.
