Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Must pass a criminal background check License/Certification Required Essential Job Functions The position supports Lucy Brock Child Development Laboratory Program
- Implement lesson plans and activities provided by the regular teacher.
- Foster a supportive and stimulating environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Adapt to children’s individual needs and respond to their interests in real time.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom and during outdoor activities.
- Follow established health, safety, and emergency protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
- Work effectively with co-teachers and university students to maintain continuity in classroom routines.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, colleagues, and families.
- Provide feedback on the day’s activities and any incidents to the program director.
- Assist in transitions, meals, and rest times as needed.
- Support university students, interns, and observers as they engage in classroom experiences.
- Follow all policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in child development or related field
- Experience working in a childcare setting
Substitutes will be utilized on an as-needed basis. Number of Hours Per Week 40 Number of Months Per Year 11 Mandatory Staff No Physical Demands of Position. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. Hiring RangePay will be commensurate with applicant competencies, budget, equity and market considerations. $15.00
