ICU Registered Nurse – Travel Nursing Job in Boone, North Carolina

ICU Registered Nurse Job Details – Boone, NC

• Location:
  
  Boone, NC 28607 – Experience the charm of Boone and the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains while working in a supportive healthcare environment.
• Assignment Type:
  Travel RN (20-week contract)
• Start Date:
  
  September 2, 2025
• End Date:
  January 20, 2026 (must work until at least January 3, 2026; ideally through January 31, 2026)
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (06:45 – 19:15), rotating every 3rd weekend
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1880–$2020 per week
• Healthcare Setting:
  Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with float to Intermediate Care (IMCU) & Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) units
• EMR System: EPIC (recent experience required)

ICU RN Qualifications & Requirements

• Active NC or Multistate Registered Nurse license (must be current and valid throughout contract)
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent ICU nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications (all current; PALS via AHA required)
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
• Experience caring for adolescent, adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients
• Willingness to float between ICU, IMCU, and Med Surg units as needed
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Must reside at least 40 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
• All white or all navy scrubs required

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU and float to IMCU/Med Surg units as needed
• Manage ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and titrate vasoactive drips
• Perform central line care, arterial line management, and continuous IV sedation
• Interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias, manage multi-system organ failure, and respond to medical emergencies
• Follow infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR
• Maintain flexibility with scheduling and floating assignments as required by patient volume
