Appointment Type: 1.0
Work Schedule: 2:30‑11:30 PM (2 days off per week, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year)
- Gather ingredients and set up the station for success.
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and portion sizes.
- Ensure food is cooked and held at safe temperatures.
- Perform grilling, sautéing, roasting, baking, and other cooking methods as required.
- Assist and direct prep work including chopping, portioning, marinating, and labeling.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Set up station for safety using Sani‑Buckets, thermometer, alcohol wipes, single‑use nitrile gloves, etc.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines and maintain a clean, organized workstation.
- Properly store food items and use FIFO methods for stock rotation.
- Maintain precise temperature logs and report any equipment malfunctions.
- Collaborate with other cooks, kitchen staff, student employees, and supervisors to meet service goals.
- Communicate clearly about prep needs, timing, and special dietary requests.
- Assist with training new team members and support an inclusive kitchen culture.
- Notify supervisors when ingredients or supplies are low and assist with receiving deliveries.
- Present food attractively and courteously interact with students and staff.
- Uphold campus dining standards and values.
- Experience in food preparation or service activities in a commercial kitchen or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques (grilling, sautéing, roasting, baking, etc.).
- Experience with food safety and sanitation practices, including temperature control and FIFO storage.
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and portion control.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast‑paced environment.
- 2+ years of related experience.
- Serv Safe certification within 1 year of employment.
- Food preparation and cooking with consistency in taste and presentation.
- Station setup, organization, and safety.
- Effective communication and customer service.
- Inventory awareness and supply management.
- Ability to follow instructions, work in a fast‑paced environment, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Employee meal plan (two meals per 8‑hour shift).

- Competitive starting salary of $17/hour with annual range $35,845–$36,000.
- Not eligible for visa sponsorship.
