Position Summary InformationMinimum Qualifications
:
Experience in food preparation or service activities in a commercial kitchen; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Special Requirements may apply for individual positions such as certification requirements by Department of Correction.

License/Certification Required
Essential Job Functions- Prepare and serve food in a state facility, including large-scale cooking, baking, and table service to customers in the dining area.
- Perform kitchen, service area, and dining room sanitation and cleaning as required by Health and Sanitation good practices.
- Serve as a lead worker over subordinate staff, including students assigned to the food service operation.
- Follow menus prepared and quantities needed based on projected business, as approved and monitored by a supervisor.
- Determine cooking times for various food items to ensure all aspects of the meal are completed at the appropriate serving time and temperature.
- Serve food and beverages to customers while displaying consistent and appropriate serving etiquette.
- Operate a dish machine or clear dishes and trays from tables or dining rooms following each meal.
- Handle money from customers or vending machines accurately and accountably.
- Adhere to North Carolina ABC Licensure Laws.
- Perform any other responsible tasks requested by a supervisor.

Work Schedule/HoursCampus Dining is a Sunday – Saturday, 6:00 am – 11:00 pm operation.
Employees are scheduled two days off each week based on business need. Days off may not be consecutive days off. Actual schedule times may vary. Employees may be required to work some flex hours to support the needs of business and/or for special campus events.

Lifting items over 40 lbs. Stooping and bending to retrieve items from ovens, shelves, etc. Sweeping and mopping area each day. Scrubbing and cleaning of all equipment daily. This employee is required to stand on your feet for your entire 8-hour shift.
Hiring Range$14 - $18.88. Pay will be commensurate with applicant competencies, budget, equity and market considerations.
