Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the University Housing Maintenance Department in routine and preventive maintenance tasks in Boone, North Carolina.

• Experience in HVAC, Carpentry, Painting, Plumbing, and/or Electrical.
• Ability to work independently or on a team.
• Moderate to heavy lifting capability.
• Ability to stand, walk, and work on your feet for long periods.

The housing facilities technician will assist with routine and preventive maintenance including HVAC, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and/or electrical tasks. This position requires moderate to heavy lifting, ability to work around dust, latex paint, and odors.

• 2+ years maintenance experience in industrial, commercial, or residential HVAC, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and/or electrical.

Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

October 1, 2025 – May 31, 2026

Hiring Range: $20–$22 per hour, commensurate with experience, budget, equity, and market considerations.
