Williams‑Sonoma, Inc. Supply Chain Overview

Primary Area of Focus

Working in the fabric receiving department on the weekend shift, the associate will unload, receive, inventory and stage fabric rolls for use in the cutting department. The position requires using buggies, a manual pallet jack and, upon successful certification, a forklift. The associate must also use a PC and scanner to complete tasks per the standard operating procedures, ensuring daily departmental goals are met in safety, service, quality and cost.

  • Practice safe work practices and demonstrate safe work habits to the workforce, adhering to personal protective equipment (PPE) standards.
  • Adhere to WSI policies with a positive attitude and willingness to assist others, acting with professional courtesy and integrity.
  • Perform daily tasks promptly and to high standards, following documented standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with associates and leadership to maximize productivity while ensuring quality and compliance with all safety policies.
  • Communicate openly and professionally with leadership to address issues and obstacles.
  • Ensure tags and tickets are correctly placed on items and properly entered into the inventory system.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of receiving experience in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
  • Willing and able to achieve successful certification for operating a powered industrial truck, and operate the equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Strong math, reading, and oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to read and understand production tickets, schedules and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks safely in a fast‑paced environment to ensure delivery requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as part of a team, with a strong sense of urgency and time management to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Experience operating a powered industrial truck.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for 12‑hour periods, bend and twist at waist and knees while loading and unloading trucks, and roll buggies and pallets with a pallet jack.
  • Frequently lift items weighing 30–50 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
  • Frequently push load buggies requiring up to 60 pounds of force.
