Trimmer

Position Title: Trimmer (All Levels)

Location: Booneville, MS

Under supervision, a Trimmer maintains trees for public safety. Responsibilities include pruning, cutting, removing, and caring for trees. The role may involve hazards such as working near traffic, falling limbs, and energized power lines. Attention to detail and adherence to safety guidelines is critical.

• Performs tree pruning, tree removal, brush chipping, and stump grinding
• Uses climbing hooks, belts, ropes, and ladders
• Operates and services equipment such as hydraulic tools, power tools, buckets, chippers, and sprayers
• Cuts away dead and excess branches from trees
• Sprays to treat diseased or unhealthy trees, including mixing chemicals and calibrating spray equipment
• Duties may change with or without notice

• Identifies tree species and characteristics of trees

• All C/3rd duties
• Identifies tree failure risk and performs risk assessment
• Assists with training other trimmers

• All B/2nd duties
• Provides training to other trimmers

• Understands occupational hazards and safety precautions
• Semi-skilled in mechanics
• Can complete proficiency test in climbing, knot tying, and chainsaw maintenance
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record per company requirements
• May need DOT physical for CDL
• Knowledge of essential job functions and responsibilities
• Attention to detail
• Organizational skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to problem solve
• Meet all physical requirements
• Pass drug and alcohol screens as required
• 18 years of age or older, 21 if CDL required
• Legally authorized to work in the United States

• Experience with tree care/maintenance program, including operation of stump grinders, chippers, chipper trucks, bucket trucks, and other tree-related equipment
