Job Title: Shipping Clerk – 1st Shift
Location: Boonton, NJ 07005
Pay rate: $22/hr
Work schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm

Under the direction of the Materials Manager, the Shipping Clerk is responsible for packing and preparing customer orders for shipment, receiving materials and equipment, and loading and unloading trucks in accordance with established procedures and shipping regulations while meeting customer delivery requirements.

• Pick orders from stock or staging areas.
• Prepare products for shipment to customers.
• Ensure customer orders and products match; box, crate, and shrink-wrap as required.
• Contact common carriers and schedule pickups to meet customer delivery requirements.
• Load outgoing trucks and unload incoming materials.
• Inspect materials and verify accuracy of bills of lading.
• Verify quantity and quality of received materials.
• Place incoming materials into storage locations.
• Pull materials from storage and deliver to production as needed.
• Affix completed address labels and any required special handling labels.
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork.
• Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• One to three months of related experience to become familiar with equipment and processes.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but routine written or oral instructions.

Frequent standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, reaching above shoulders, and communicating verbally.
Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and operating machinery with feet.
Frequent lifting and moving up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds.
Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
