NC Associates are working in partnership with a well-established Accountancy Practice based in Southport to recruit an Accounts Senior
. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional looking to join a friendly and supportive firm with a varied client portfolio and genuine opportunities for long-term career development.
Working closely with senior members of the team, you will manage a broad range of accounting responsibilities for sole traders, partnerships, and owner‑managed limited companies across a variety of sectors.
Accounts Senior ResponsibilitiesPreparing year‑end statutory accounts through to finalisation for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
Producing monthly and quarterly management accounts for a varied client portfolio
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Preparing corporation tax computations and returns
Supporting the delivery of outsourced payroll services on a weekly and monthly basis
Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a day‑to‑day point of contact
Assisting clients with accounting and bookkeeping queries
Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
Supporting Partners and Managers with ad‑hoc assignments and client projects
Maintaining compliance with current accounting standards and HMRC regulations
To be successful in your application, you should have the following experience:
Essential:
A minimum of three years' experience working within an Accountancy Practice
AAT qualified or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
Experience preparing statutory accounts for a range of business entities
Experience preparing VAT returns and corporation tax returns
Strong communication skills with the confidence to deal directly with clients
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Desirable:
Experience preparing management accounts
Exposure to payroll processing
Experience using Sage, Xero, Quick Books, or other cloud‑based accounting software
Experience working with healthcare or medical sector clients
Currently studying ACCA or looking to commence professional studies
