MOT Technician

We are currently recruiting for an experienced MOT Technician to join a busy automotive service centre in Southport.

• Competitive starting salary between £32,000 and £36,000 per annum, with potential earnings around £38,000 to £40,000 including performance-related bonuses
• Uncapped bonus scheme with on-target earnings exceeding £38,000
• Guaranteed 5-day working week,
  42.5 hours, Monday to Friday, with one in two Saturdays and a day off during the week when working a Saturday
• Overtime available and paid at standard rates - 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays

• Supportive, friendly workshop environment focused on quality and teamwork Duties of an MOT Technician :
• Conduct MOT tests on customer vehicles in compliance with Ministry standards
• Diagnose vehicle faults, perform repairs and servicing as required as an MOT Technician
• Support workshop team to ensure smooth daily operations and high levels of customer service
• Assist with vehicle diagnostics and minor repairs where applicable
• Maintain accurate documentation and detailed reports on all work completed
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and workshop standards at all times Requirements of an MOT Technician :
• Valid Class 4 and Class 7 MOT testing licence
• UK driving licence with minimal points
• Qualifications such as IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair are preferred
• Alternatively, significant hands-on vehicle mechanic experience with an active MOT licence will be considered
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills
