We're working with a leading architectural practice in Sheffield City Centre that's looking to appoint an experienced and motivated Architectural Technologist / Technician (CIAT accredited or equivalent) or Architect (ARB registered) to join their growing team. The successful candidate will have 5 years of post-qualification UK experience , ideally with exposure to industrial, retail, and commercial projects . You'll take a hands-on role leading projects from technical design and statutory approvals through to on-site delivery and completion.
Key Responsibilities Project Delivery & Job Running:
Manage projects through RIBA Stages?4–6, acting as the main contact for clients, contractors, and consultants. Technical Packages:
Produce detailed technical drawings, construction details, and NBS specifications. Statutory Compliance:
Oversee Building Regulations submissions, planning condition discharge, and Building Safety Act?2022 requirements. Site Meetings & Inspections:
Attend site meetings, respond to RFIs, review technical submissions, and monitor quality. Team & Consultant Coordination:
Liaise with structural, civil, M&E, fire, and cladding specialists to ensure coordinated design delivery. Key Requirements Minimum 5?years' UK practice experience in commercial, industrial, or retail sectors (preferred but not essential). Proven ability to run projects independently from design through construction. Strong technical detailing knowledge , particularly with commercial envelopes and fit-out. Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations , CDM?2015 , and Principal Designer workflows.
Proficiency in Micro Station ; experience with NBS?
Chorus and Microsoft?365 advantageous. Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills. Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits. They Offer Competitive salary aligned to experience. Strong pension scheme with matched contributions. Generous holiday allowance??
