Cover Supervisor​/PE Supervisor

Overview

We are seeking a confident, adaptable, and proactive Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team. This role involves delivering high-quality classroom supervision across a range of subjects, ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the class teacher. The successful candidate will also provide general support across the school, contributing to a positive and purposeful learning environment.

As part of the role, we require a male member of staff who is able to support boys' Physical Education lessons on occasion, offering practical assistance and maintaining a safe and structured setting during PE activities.

• Supervise whole classes during teacher absence, ensuring students remain on task with pre‑prepared work.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and expectations.
• Provide clear instructions and maintain positive learning routines.
• Record attendance and provide feedback to teaching staff as required.

• Offer in‑class support to teachers, working with individuals or small groups when needed.
• Assist with administrative or organisational tasks to support smooth day‑to‑day operations.
• Help maintain a calm, supportive, and inclusive learning atmosphere.

• Provide occasional support in boys' PE lessons, including setting up equipment, supervising activities, and promoting student engagement.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and encourage positive participation.

• Confident and clear communicator with strong presence in the classroom.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Adaptability and willingness to support learning across a variety of subjects and year groups.
• Comfortable supervising boys' PE sessions as required.
• Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, supportive approach.

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Cover Supervisor, or in another educational support role.
• Experience supporting PE or delivering physical activities.
• Understanding of safeguarding practices and commitment to student welfare.
