Autism Specialists & KS2 Teaching Assistants - Sefton (September 2026)

Locations:
Maghull, Formby, Bootle, Waterloo, Crosby, Thornton.

Teaching Personnel is recruiting dedicated teaching assistants and autism specialists to support pupils across KS2 in primary schools across Sefton, working on short-term, long-term and permanent placements.

• Support pupils across KS2 on an individual basis and within small groups.
• Work closely with children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language needs, moderate learning difficulties, social, emotional & mental health needs, and challenging behaviour.
• Help pupils access learning and reach their full potential.
• Build positive relationships with staff, pupils, and parents.
• Create a calm, engaging, and supportive learning environment.

• Experience supporting children with Autism and challenging behaviour.
• Experience as a teaching assistant or autism specialist.
• Graduates considering a future in teaching or educational psychology.
• Support workers with transferable SEN experience.
• Valid enhanced DBS check (or undertake within recruitment).
• Appropriate qualifications and training for the role.

• Short-term, long-term and potential permanent placements.
