A permanent opportunity for an Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Early Years as the EYFS Lead, teaching responsibility in the Reception class, with Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) responsibilities and staff management at our Church of England primary school in Netherton, Bootle.
Key responsibilities- Managing and developing the Early Years provision, ensuring high‑quality teaching and learning outcomes.
- Delivering the Reception class curriculum and maintaining up‑to‑date teaching plans.
- Acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead for Early Years pupils and supporting safeguarding processes.
- Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to plan and evaluate the school’s strategic development.
- Leading professional development and coaching of Early Years staff and teaching assistants.
- Co‑ordinating with external agencies and families to support pupil progress.
- Participating fully in the appraisal and performance management cycle for teaching staff.
- Leading, managing and developing high‑quality provision in the Early Years curriculum subject.
- Coaching, training and teaching across the school.
- Monitoring and reporting on subject standards to the subject governor.
- Maintaining all relevant paperwork and records.
- Outstanding Early Years practitioner with experience in the Reception class.
- Specialist qualification in Early Years or equivalent.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion, with a track record of meeting pupil needs through targeted provision.
- Experience leading a subject across the whole school.
- Completion of, or readiness to undertake, a National Professional Qualification (NPQ) in leadership.
- Strong working relationship with external agencies.
- Ability to inspire colleagues and collaborate strategically within the Leadership Team.
- Passion for raising pupil achievement and outcomes.
