New Directions is seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary SEND Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive specialist school based in Sefton. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher who is committed to supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and helping them achieve their full potential.
This is a long-term opportunity to work with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and personalised lessons that meet a wide range of learning needs. Working alongside an experienced and supportive team, you will play a key role in creating a positive, nurturing environment where every student is encouraged to succeed both academically and personally. The Role- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEND.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, the SENDCo, therapists, and external professionals to deliver personalised learning programmes.
- Support pupils with individual PLMD needs, encouraging progress in both learning, wellbeing & behavioural needs.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and communication difficulties.
- Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals.
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Has experience teaching secondary-aged pupils, ideally within a SEND or specialist setting.
- Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and contributes positively to the wider school community.
- References covering the last 5 years
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
