Summer Placement Civil Engineering

Placement Duration:8 weeks

Civil Engineering projects from £1m – £10mandmanage reactive maintenance contractsacross the Northwestof England.

The Role

You will carry out daily site visits and audits, reporting into the senior site engineers. Working within all areas of the business, our summer placement gives you the opportunity to understand the breadth of the business and the opportunities the sector holds for you.

Travel within the Northwestis a requirement of the placementwhere you will experience and benefit froma wide range of projects and works.

Responsibilities
  • Undertaking surveys and setting out on site
  • Preparation of quality control and compliance requirements for Civil Engineering
  • Co-ordinate with all parties,e.gengineers,subcontractorsand other parties to ensure work is completed toagreed specifications
  • Monitor and reportprogressto ensure KPI’s are met
  • Liaise with Quantity Surveyors to manage costs and quantities of required materials.
  • Liaise with Stakeholders ranging from senior management tolocal residents.
  • Ensure Health & Safety and sustainability policies and legislation is adhered to.
Qualifications
  • Working towards a Civil or Construction Management Degree
  • Demonstrate a keen interest and understanding of engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Able to work both as part of a team and independently
  • Hold a full manual driving licence
Terms & Conditions
  • Placement term: 8 – 10 weeks
  • Hours of work:
    Monday – Friday, 8.00am – 5.00 pm
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro-rata)
  • A fair and competitive salary, taking into consideration market rates and your experience level.
