Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner

The Cheshire and Mersey Perinatal Mental Health Service has grown at a significant rate following a successful bid for Long Term Plan funding, allowing us to support an increasing number of women, partners, and families within the perinatal period.

We are seeking a practitioner who are passionate about providing excellent care to women and families within the perinatal period and seeking to reduce health inequalities.

We utilise a flexible approach to the delivery of clinical care to best suit the need of mother and infant.

We are looking to recruit practitioners from a variety of backgrounds including Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN) and/or Social Work.

Specialist training opportunities will be available as part of this role.

You will have a minimum of two years post registration experience. You will need to be able to travel across a large geographical area.

The role will primarily covers the Sefton locality, there may also be the need to cross cover Liverpool locality too.

The post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the effective prioritisation and provision of Perinatal Mental and Infant Mental Health Services to an identified caseload of women.

The Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner provides specialist assessment, risk management, act as lead professional and deliver therapeutic interventions to women experiencing mental health difficulties during pregnancy and the postnatal period. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the practitioner promotes recovery, enhances maternal wellbeing, supports positive parent-infant relationships, safeguards vulnerable families and contributes to the delivery of high-quality, person-centred perinatal mental health services.
