Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary School
Location: Borehamwood, Hertfordshire
Pay: £110–£135 per day
Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary (3 Days per Week, Term Time Only)

We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a popular one‑form entry primary school in Borehamwood, providing high‑quality support across KS1 and KS2.
Responsibilities- Deliver high‑quality PPA cover across Year 1 to Year 6, following teachers' planning and ensuring continuity of learning.
- Lead whole‑class learning in the teacher's absence, maintaining a positive and purposeful classroom environment.
- Plan and deliver targeted intervention groups in reading, writing and maths.
- Support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs to access the curriculum successfully.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to class teachers.
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement and achievement.
- HLTA status or proven experience working at HLTA level within a primary school.
- Recent experience delivering whole‑class cover and interventions across KS1 and KS2.
- Strong knowledge of English, maths and the primary curriculum.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- A proactive, flexible and team‑focused approach.
- Experience supporting pupils with autism or other SEND needs (desirable).

Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training. Pay is determined in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.
