This specialist civil/structural consultancy is an award winning firm who focus on assessing, maintaining and extending the serviceable life of a wide range of damaged and deteriorating concrete structures. They are an Irish firm established over 20 years, with a growing London/M25 presence and workload. The London team currently has one Associate and one engineer and is seeking another mid level person to join their team.

The role would suit someone with at least 2 years experience, which could be with a contractor or consultant. You would be working alongside the Associate under supervision initially. The work is specialist and involves forensic engineering and failure analysis, structural assessment, inspections and load testing, cathodic protection, structural health monitoring, expert witness work, materials testing and report writing. Structures could include bridges, tunnels, buildings, underground chambers, wharfs, jetties and pipelines and car parks.

• Forensic engineering and failure analysis
• Structural assessment, inspections and load testing
• Cathodic protection and structural health monitoring
• Expert witness work, materials testing and report writing
• Collecting material samples, surveying, and site work such as working on high platforms, tunnels and small spaces
• Writing structural reports and offering solutions and recommendations

• At least 2 years experience in civil or structural engineering
• Good communicator, able to work both office and on site
• Good understanding of civil and structural works
• Ability to use a drill
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is useful
• Driver licence essential
