We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Account Handler to support a busy insurance team in managing and developing a portfolio of Property Owners and General Commercial clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced insurance professional looking to join a client-focused environment and take the next step in their career.
The Role
The Account Handler will be responsible for day-to-day servicing of clients, supporting Account Executives, and helping deliver exceptional service. You will play a key role in client retention, new business growth, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of Property Owners and General Commercial insurance clients
* Prepare and process renewals, mid-term adjustments, and new business documentation
* Obtain and negotiate terms with insurers to secure competitive cover and pricing
* Review policy documentation for accuracy and compliance
* Act as a key point of contact for client queries, providing timely and professional advice
* Support Account Executives with broking, presentations, and client meetings
* Maintain accurate records on internal systems and ensure regulatory compliance
* Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities within existing accounts
* Liaise effectively with insurers and other stakeholders to resolve queries
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience in a Commercial Account Handler or similar insurance role
* Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products (Property, Liability, Motor Fleet, Management Liability, Professional Indemnity)
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
* Confident negotiating with insurers
* IT proficient (Acturis or similar systems preferred)
* Cert CII qualified or working towards (desirable)
