Are you an experienced security professional with a passion for creating safer environments, influencing best practice and driving meaningful change across healthcare services? Join Elysium Healthcare as Group Security Lead and play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering a modern, proactive approach to security that protects our service users, colleagues and visitors across the organisation.

This strategic and influential role is responsible for leading a range of security initiatives that strengthen safety, security and risk management across Elysium's operations. Working closely with clinical, operational and support teams, you will champion the principles of relational, procedural, therapeutic and physical security, ensuring they are embedded throughout services and support positive outcomes for service users.

As the organisation's subject matter expert for security, you will provide specialist advice and guidance to multidisciplinary teams, helping services identify, assess and manage risks effectively. You will work closely with ward-based and frontline care teams, supporting the assessment and management of risks presented by service users while ensuring security approaches remain person-centred, proportionate and aligned with clinical best practice.

You will play a key role in developing and promoting security standards, policies and improvement programmes, helping services create safe environments that support recovery-focused care pathways. Through collaboration, coaching and professional leadership, you will help strengthen security awareness, capability and culture across the organisation.

Using data, incident themes and emerging best practice, you will identify opportunities for improvement and support services to implement effective solutions that enhance safety and security outcomes. You will also provide expert input into risk management processes, investigations, governance forums and organisational initiatives, ensuring security considerations are embedded in decision-making and service development.

Key responsibilities:

Lead and deliver a programme of security audits and site visits across services, ensuring compliance with physical security, access control and emergency preparedness requirements.

Develop and implement security policies, procedures and assurance frameworks, including oversight of the Physical Security Document and Physical Security Index.

Promote least restrictive practice and support services to reduce restrictive interventions while maintaining safety.

Lead security risk assessments, incident prevention initiatives and emergency response planning.

Oversee preparedness for external reviews, inspections and designation processes relating to security and patient safety.

Manage security alert systems and provide expert advice on complex security matters to services and leadership teams.

Work closely with internal stakeholders, emergency services and regulatory bodies to strengthen safety and security arrangements.

Support training, competency development and continuous professional development in security and risk management.

Monitor safety and security performance through KPIs, audits and governance reporting.

Lead corporate security governance forums, ensuring action plans are implemented and best practice is embedded across the organisation.

Act as a senior advisor on patient safety and security, promoting a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and professional excellence.

Develop and maintain professional networks across forensic and secure healthcare services to share learning and best practice.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Significant relevant experience as a clinician, able to undertake thorough risk assessment; assess, plan and evaluate patient care

Experience with in a secure / prison setting

Experience of providing high quality of care

Experience in the Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression

Experience of project work incorporating system change (D)

Experience in auditing (D)

Clinical Mental Health qualification

Post registration training in an area relevant to caring for adults with forensic services (D)
