** Position Summary
** The Lead Pastor serves as the primary spiritual leader, shepherd, and visionary for Lifewater Church. This role provides overall direction and leadership for the church’s mission of making disciples who grow to become more like Christ. The Lead Pastor is responsible for preaching and teaching God’s Word, cultivating spiritual formation throughout the congregation, equipping leaders for ministry, and guiding the church toward greater impact in its community and beyond.

They will provide strategic and spiritual leadership that unites the church around a clear vision for transformation and mission.
** Key Responsibilities
**** Preaching and Teaching
*** Deliver Scripturally sound, gospel-centered sermons that challenge, encourage, and equipthe congregation for spiritual maturity and mission.
* Develop a yearly plan to allow other ministry areas to integrate lesson plans and activities. The  plan is due to the Elder Board by November 1st of the preceding year.
* In coordination with the assigned Associate Pastor, ensure additional opportunities such as Bible studies, classes, and leadership development gatherings are instituted.
* The Senior Pastor will guide, mentor, and (if necessary) train the pastoral staff in the above mentioned items.
* Will ensure that any new classes, studies, or development opportunities are vetted and approved no later than 14 days before implementation.
* Host Newcomers Receptions to introduce guests to Lifewater’s mission**.
*** The Senior Pastor will lead the Covenant Membership Classes every spring and fall. The Senior Pastor will assign to an MC no later than 60 days following class conclusion and covenant agreement.
* Ensure all preaching and teaching align with the theological convictions and core values of Lifewater Church.
** Spiritual Formation and Disciple-Making
*** Ensure that five spiritual education classes are completed annually.
* Intentionally and with a plan, disciple the Staff for a minimum of 9 hours per quarter .
* Ensures MCs are multiplying as needed.
* Champion a culture of intentional disciple-making that equips believers to follow Jesus in everyday life and reproduce disciples of others.
* Model and teach spiritual practices such as prayer, fasting, Scripture meditation, community, and service as essential to spiritual growth.

These spiritual practices should be targeted through example beyond regular service times.
* Collaborate with staff and ministry leaders to develop and maintain a holistic Disciple-Making Pathway across all ministries (children, students, adults, and groups).
* Implement a formal leadership development program for non-staff members.  + Establish a quarterly mentoring plan for Lifewater Staff  + Meet once a month with Missional Community leaders. This may either be as a small group (no more than 6 leaders/co-leaders) for training, or a one-on-one coaching session.  + Meet once a quarter with all Missional Community leaders.
** Pastoral Care
*** Shepherd the congregation through pastoral counseling, prayer, visitation, and relational presence.
* Officiate weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other significant spiritual milestones.
* Foster a culture of compassion and care where every member feels seen, valued, and supported.
** Leadership and Vision Casting
*** Supervise and lead the Church Staff.
* Give two written formal feedbacks with Church Staff annually.
* Develop a 1-year, 3-year and 5-year Vision Plans for Lifewater Church.  + 1-year Vision Plan is due to the Elder Board for review by November 1st of the preceding year.  + 3-year and 5-year Vision Plans will…
