Core responsibilities- Credit analysis
:
Analyze an applicant's financial information, including credit reports, income statements, and employment records, to assess their ability to repay a loan. - Risk assessment
:
Evaluate factors like the applicant's credit history, debt-to-income ratio, and collateral to determine the level of risk involved. - Compliance
:
Ensure that all loan applications and decisions comply with regulatory standards, internal policies, and legal requirements. - Decision making
:
Make recommendations on loan approval or denial based on the risk assessment and in accordance with the bank's credit policies. - Documentation
:
Prepare comprehensive risk assessment reports and credit memos and maintain detailed records of applications and decisions. - Collaboration
:
Work with loan officers to gather essential documentation required for underwriting and clarify any uncertainties about the application. - Portfolio monitoring
:
Monitor the performance of existing loans and provide input on risk management.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Knowledge of credit policies, procedures, and relevant financial principles.
- Familiarity with financial software and underwriting systems is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in loan underwriting, credit analysis, or a related financial role is preferred.
