Description
The counselor will be in charge of assisting patients through medically assisted treatments and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction. The counselor conducts individual and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies, evaluates patients’ progress, and collaborates with doctors, nurses, and other counselors to help patients achieve overall outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
- Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients
- Complete bio‑psychosocial assessment
- Facilitate, establish, and review with each patient the initial treatment plan
- Develop after‑care plans and discharge plans
- Perform other related duties as determined by supervisor
- Current Louisiana license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Provisional licensed candidates are not considered
- Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals
- Demonstrate a positive, non‑judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population
- Ability to collaborate with compassionate and knowledgeable counseling team members
- Successful completion of a satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
