McElroy Metal currently has an opening for a Maintenance Mechanic at our manufacturing facility located in Bossier City, Louisiana. This hourly position works both independently and with plant personnel to perform a variety of tasks to ensure that building/grounds, production equipment, and material handling equipment are functioning to manufacturer specs, are maintained for longevity, and operate safely. This position reports to the Production Manager.

8:00 am – 5:00 pm M-F or alternate shifts to accommodate production.

• Perform all required electrical/mechanical troubleshooting on Company equipment, obtain necessary replacement parts, and perform required repairs.
• Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, power tools.
• Examine the form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs and straightedges.
• Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools and power tools.
• Install special functional and structural parts in devices, using hand tools.
• Assigned responsibility for LOTOTO and work with employees during such LOTOTO.
• Performs Preventive Maintenance on equipment following OEM guidelines and timeline.
• Provides weekly percent compliance of all major production equipment to the PM and OM.
• Provides support for all overhead cranes and works with vendor for troubleshooting and scheduled PM/inspections.
• Works with Vendor on mobile equipment repairs and internal PM requirements.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in a mechanical/maintenance-related field.
• Demonstrated ability to perform electronic maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to perform mechanical maintenance.
• Must have the ability to rotate shifts on occasion.
