Alternative Provision Mentor – Thomas Middlecott Academy

The role of the Alternative Provision Mentor is to target support as part of a coordinated response by the school and other agencies for identified “at risk” pupils where behaviour, well‑being, engagement, attitude and attendance barriers are the causal factors of concern. The intention is to bring about sustainable changes in individuals and contribute to an improvement in their behaviour and attitudes towards school, learning and their social and emotional, mental health needs.

This is a permanent role working 37 hours a week, 39 weeks a year – Term Time Only.

We are looking for someone who has GCSE/NVQ level 2 or equivalent in English and Maths. Experience of working with children or young adults in an education setting together with excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work across a range of challenging issues and people including parents/carers, scholars, staff and members of the wider community.
