Location: Greater Boston, MA (Hybrid – 2 days onsite, mandatory Wednesdays)

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to support the development and sustainment of enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems within its Digital Engineering Center. This role involves designing and executing automated test strategies to ensure the performance, reliability, and quality of complex, mission-critical software tools. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with QA methodologies, automation frameworks, and enterprise web applications in an agile development environment, while also contributing to continuous process improvement and cross-functional collaboration throughout the software development lifecycle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Define test strategy and create comprehensive test plans; maintain them throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests for PLM software and supporting services.
  • Monitor and report testing activities against project schedules to ensure timely delivery.
  • Identify, log, and track defects using established bug tracking tools.
  • Participate in code and design reviews with a focus on testability and long-term reliability.
  • Maintain test documentation, including test cases, procedures, and result logs.
  • Conduct historical data analysis and generate quality metrics to support process improvements.
  • Monitor adherence to quality standards during software development and deployment.
  • Recommend improvements in processes and tools to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support the development of training materials and technical documentation aligned with program needs.
  • Perform all related duties as assigned, ensuring tests conform to defined specifications and protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in software quality assurance and/or test automation.
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools such as Playwright (preferred), Selenium, Cypress, or Robot Framework.
  • Strong background in testing enterprise web applications and REST APIs.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience with PLM platforms (i.e., Aras Innovator, Siemens Teamcenter, or PTC Windchill) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD system integrations (i.e., Solid Works and CATIA) is preferred.
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or Azure Dev Ops is preferred.
  • Software testing certification (i.e., ISTQB) is a plus.
  • Due to the nature of the work, an Interim clearance is required, however the candidate will need to obtain a Secret clearance (active Secret clearance is a plus).
