Overview
We are partnered with a rapidly growing construction firm in Boston that is seeking an experienced Construction Accounting Manager to join their team. This person will oversee core accounting operations, support project financial management, and help streamline processes as the business continues to scale.

Location:
Boston, MA
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR, general ledger, billing, and month-end close.
- Prepare and review financial statements, job cost reports, and project profitability analyses.
- Manage WIP schedules, job costing, and project accounting workflows.
- Work closely with project managers and operations leaders to ensure accurate forecasting, budget tracking, and cost control.
- Lead and mentor accounting staff; promote strong internal controls and process improvements.
- Support cash flow management, variance analysis, and financial planning activities.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and banking partners as needed.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and industry-specific accounting standards.
- Assist with systems enhancements and process automation initiatives as the company continues rapid growth.
- 5–10 years of accounting experience, preferably within construction, real estate development, or related project-based industries.
- Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, and project financial workflows.
- Experience with construction accounting systems (e.g., Procore, Viewpoint, Sage 300, CMiC, or similar) a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred but not required.
- Proven ability to collaborate with operations teams and communicate financial insights effectively.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing environment.
