Senior Tax Accountant (base up to $120k + bonus, benefits)
A growing CPA firm just outside of Boston, MA is hiring a Senior Tax Accountant to lead client engagements, review complex returns, and mentor junior staff in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
You’ll work closely with a supportive leadership team and have access to specialty departments, giving you exposure to a wide variety of tax issues and a clear path to future advancement (Manager and beyond). Clients include large public companies and privately held businesses across diverse industries.
Compensation:- Base salary up to $120,000, depending on experience

Collaborative, approachable leadership and access to specialty tax resources to help you keep growing technically
- Lead and supervise tax engagements in compliance with firm and professional standards
- Plan and schedule engagements, coordinating directly with clients and internal teams
- Review complex federal and state tax returns (business and individual) and related work papers for accuracy and completeness
- Train, supervise, and mentor junior staff and associates, providing clear feedback and coaching
- Perform technical tax research and clearly communicate findings internally and to clients
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional value-added services
- Stay current on tax law and regulatory changes relevant to your client base and areas of specialization
Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of public accounting experience with a primary focus on tax
- Proven experience managing tax engagements and serving as a reviewer
- Hands-on experience reviewing complex business and individual tax returns
- Strong interpersonal and client communication skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines during busy seasons
Skills and Experience:
- Supervisory experience across multiple concurrent client engagements
- Prior experience with clients in diverse industries (e.g., closely held businesses, corporations, multi-entity groups)
- CPA license or active CPA track
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience with Quick Books, Microsoft Excel, Pro System fx Tax, and/or CCH Axcess Tax
- Strong tax research and analytical skills related to planning and compliance
