PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

Assist Director of Finance & Assistant Director of Finance with the accounting functionality of the hotel.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND

JOB DUTIES:
  • Oversee the Income Audit and Accounts Payable functions.
  • Prepare Daily and Weekly Revenue Report.
  • Assist with Month-End Close Process, including preparation and review of journal entries
  • Reconcile daily payment transactions
  • Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and operating reports.
  • Assist with timely completion of balance sheet and bank reconciliations as required by Langham Hotels standard operating procedures.
  • Assist Accounting colleagues as needed.
  • Complete a daily and monthly tax reconciliation.
  • Answer calls from guests and research the issue/inquiry.
  • Additional duties not mentioned above may also be requested by supervisor.
SPECIAL

SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Knowledge of accounting operations relative to the hotel, general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, income audit, etc.
  • Basic mathematics skills; ability to operate 10-key by touch; computer knowledge.
  • Ability to effectively deal with guest and colleague concerns in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Digital dexterity: strong knowledge of computers (Windows and Microsoft Office) and Shiji management
  • Ability to make general decisions in the absence of specific directions, e.g. prioritizing workload.
  • Must be able work under strict time constraints & meet deadlines.
  • Ability to speak, read & write in English.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE /LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES /

REQUIRED:
  • Two to three years of Accounting/Finance experience, preferably in hospitality industry.
  • Digital dexterity: strong knowledge of computers (Windows and Microsoft Office) and Shiji management
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
SALARY RANGE:
  • $85,000 - $92,000 annually
