We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Controller to support our client's finance and accounting operations on a temp-to-perm basis. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the FMCG sector, strong technical accounting skills, and the ability to operate in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This role will report to the Controller and play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and internal management reports
Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
Help manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, and fixed assets
Collaborate with the Controller on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements
Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor inquiries
Support internal control processes and help identify areas for efficiency gains
Provide financial support to cross-functional teams, including operations and supply chain
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA or CPA track a plus
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the FMCG/CPG industry
Solid understanding of GAAP, inventory, and cost accounting principles
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Net Suite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics)
Strong Excel skills and familiarity with data analysis tools
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of meeting deadlines
Comfortable working in a fully remote environment
Must be available to work East Coast hours (EST)
