Interim Senior Tax Accountant

We are currently seeking candidates for an Interim Senior Tax Accountant opportunity with a highly successful investment management firm located in Boston, MA. The Interim Senior Tax Accountant will support partnership and fund tax compliance across a range of alternative investment structures. The ideal candidate will have 2–5+ years of tax experience with a background in hedge funds, private equity, asset management, or public accounting.

This is a 12-month contract position paying between $70-$100/hour, depending on experience. The role is onsite in Boston, MA, 3-4 days per week, with potential flexibility.
Candidates must be located in the Greater Boston area and willing to work onsite in Boston.

Responsibilities:
  • Support federal and state partnership tax filings.
  • Review K-1s and other pass-through tax reporting.
  • Assist with taxable income allocations and tax distribution calculations.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors and service providers.
  • Support state, nonresident, and withholding tax matters.
  • Prepare recurring tax reporting and analysis.
  • Assist with tax notices, investor inquiries, and related requests.
  • Partner with accounting and operations teams on tax-related matters.
  • Support tax research and ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 2–5+ years of tax experience, preferably within alternative investments.
  • Hedge fund, private equity, asset management, or public accounting background.
  • Strong partnership and investment fund tax experience.
  • Hands-on experience with federal/state filings and K-1s.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong Excel, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • CPA and/or advanced tax degree is a plus.
