Accounting Manager

A well-known Boston-based non-profit organization is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager to join its team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manager will help manage the organization’s day-to-day financial affairs. This is a hands-on role with broad scope, covering everything from the general ledger and monthly close to grant accounting and the annual audit.

• Manage the general ledger and the monthly close process.
• Assist in the preparation of the organization’s financial statements.
• Support the budgeting process.
• Administer and account for grants, including tracking and reporting.
• Coordinate the annual audit.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Review the organization’s tax returns.
• Assist the Director of Finance/CFO with day-to-day financial management and special projects as needed.

• Strong understanding of US GAAP
• Knowledge of grant accounting
• Experience with the budgeting process
• Strong technology skills;
  Intacct experience highly preferred
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with senior leadership
• Highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities

• 7-15 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit environment
• Experience supervising or overseeing accounting functions (A/P, A/R, payroll)
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field

• $85-$95k range
