Creative Financial Staffing (CFS) is partnering with a well-established professional services organization to identify a Controller to join its leadership team. • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Oversee general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and technical accounting matters
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial statements
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in partnership with senior leadership
• Coordinate external audit, tax, and compliance activities
• Drive accounting process improvements and identify opportunities for greater efficiency and scalability
• Develop and mentor the accounting team while maintaining a hands-on approach to the department

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA preferred
• Strong foundation in accounting, financial reporting, and general ledger operations
• Professional services experience or experience within an adjacent industry strongly preferred
• Demonstrated career progression and increasing levels of responsibility
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
• Previous accounting leadership and team management experience
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on accounting responsibilities

The ideal Controller will be someone who has built their career on a strong accounting foundation and can demonstrate thoughtful, consistent progression throughout their career. This organization is looking for a technically strong accounting leader rather than someone whose experience has primarily shifted toward FP&A or operational finance.
