Controller, Accounting, Financial Controller

Boutique real estate company in Boston is seeking a Controller to add to their team. This role will work closely with ownership and Project Managers on a regular basis, own the entire accounting & financial operations for the business, and manage a small staff. We are targeting candidates with 10+ years of experience in real estate, construction, or related industries. CPA / public accounting is a big plus, but not required.

• Own and oversee the entire accounting function, including cash management, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Maintain oversight of financial reporting, internal controls, and operational efficiencies.
• Lead, develop, and mentor a team of 2-3 accountants
• Manage financial systems ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights supporting strategic decisions.
• Other ad hoc projects as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 10+ years of experience
• Public accounting / CPA is a plus, but not required
• Experience project-based accounting is preferred
• Strong Excel and familiarity with ERP systems
