Position Summary

The Senior Investor Relations Officer will be solely responsible for raising and managing non‑LIHTC capital for MHIC, with a focus on cultivating and securing social impact investments, grants, and philanthropic contributions. This includes developing strong relationships with foundations, hospitals, high‑net‑worth individuals, donor‑advised funds, and other non‑traditional capital partners.

The incumbent will play a central role in diversifying MHIC’s capital base, growing new sources of mission‑aligned capital, and aligning investor engagement strategies with MHIC’s community development goals. Reporting to the Director of Capital Development, the Senior Investor Relations Officer will work cross‑functionally with the Lending, Asset Management, and Finance teams to deliver timely communication, reporting, and engagement strategies that inspire confidence and drive long‑term commitments.

Key Responsibilities Investor Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for foundations, hospitals, high‑net‑worth individuals, philanthropic institutions, and other social impact investors.
  • Build and sustain high‑impact, mission‑aligned relationships that support MHIC’s community development and affordable housing goals.
  • Anticipate investor needs, respond to inquiries, and provide exceptional service to ensure long‑term trust and satisfaction.
Social Impact Capital Development
  • Lead all efforts to raise non‑LIHTC capital, including philanthropic grants, PRIs/MRIs, and direct social impact investments.
  • Design and deliver investor pitches, proposals, reports, and tailored communications to secure new sources of capital.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Lending teams to provide accurate data and impact reporting that supports investor confidence and transparency.
  • Proactively identify and pursue opportunities with hospitals, foundations, donor‑advised funds, and other mission‑driven capital providers.
Investor Reporting & Stewardship
  • Oversee the production and delivery of timely and accurate impact and financial reports for non‑LIHTC investors.
  • Track commitments, transactions, pledges, and relationship history in MHIC’s database system.
  • Ensure compliance with funder and donor requirements, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and transparency.
Strategic Initiatives
  • Develop and execute strategies to diversify MHIC’s investor base through social impact and philanthropic channels.
  • Organize and support investor engagement opportunities such as events, round tables, site visits, and thought leadership forums.
  • Monitor trends in philanthropy, social impact investing, and community development finance to inform MHIC’s fundraising strategy.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in fundraising, investor relations, philanthropy, or social impact capital development.
  • Proven track record of securing philanthropic donations, grants, and social impact investments from institutional funders and high‑net‑worth individuals.
