Feeney - Field Safety Specialist

Job Description

A Field Safety Specialist conducts job site safety, health, and environmental quality audits to ensure compliance. This position also manages corrective actions when at-risk actions are identified and assists with root cause initiatives.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Inspect job site activities to ensure safety compliance.
• Manage on-site corrective actions.
• Share findings with supervisors for the purpose of necessary follow-up.
• Provide on-site review and training as necessary.
• Provide consultation as necessary.
• Assist with incident reporting and Individual Assistance process, collecting and verifying incident reports.
• Assist with root cause initiatives.
• Provide safety training on company procedures and regulatory compliance
• Actively participate in self-development and growth

• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, regulations, and construction site safety procedure.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential risks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and efficiently within a diverse team.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental safety, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in construction safety or related field
• Certification in safety management (e.g., OSHA 30 Construction, CSP, CHST) is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software (Safety Culture)

• Able and willing to work long hours including day, night, and weekend shifts as needed, and work outside of normal hours.
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Able to talk and listen.
• Able to walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Able to climb a minimum of 5 rungs of an extension ladder.
