A family-owned mechanical contractor in the Greater Boston area is hiring an experienced Estimator as it continues to grow across commercial plumbing and HVAC projects. You'll join a respected contractor with a strong project pipeline, a collaborative culture and clear opportunities for career progression.

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and bid proposals for plumbing and HVAC projects
• Review drawings, specifications and project documents
• Complete quantity take-offs and labour and material pricing
• Request and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and vendors
• Identify value engineering opportunities and ways to cut costs
• Work with project managers, operations and leadership during preconstruction
• Attend site visits, walkthroughs and pre-bid meetings as needed
• Keep bid files and estimating databases organised and up to date

• 3+ years of estimating experience in plumbing, HVAC, mechanical contracting or related construction
• Able to read construction drawings and specifications
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, installation methods and construction costs
• Experience with estimating software (e.g., Trimble Autobid, Fast Pipe/Fast Duct, Plan Swift, EST MEP) and Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field is preferred but not required
