Job Description:

Boston Conservatory at Berklee invites applications for Costume Shop openings as: draper/stitchers, wardrobe assistants, and hair/wigs/makeup assistants. Part of the Performance Services department, Costume Shop Overhires are casual, hourly employees reporting to and supervised by the Costume Shop Manager and staff.

MINIMUM

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

* 1-3 years of experience in a professional theatrical/performance environment, in general/various operations or a specific area

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

REQUIRED:

* Must be able to work independently, take direction, move with urgency, remain diplomatic and calm in fast-paced situations
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, File Maker, and/or similar formats for record-keeping and communications is helpful
* Interest in and knowledge of costume construction techniques, wardrobe maintenance

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
* Indoor environments, some with low light: stages, backstage areas, dressing rooms, costume shop, props storage, office spaces, closets, catwalks
* Seated and standing positions
* May work closely with student workers

SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS,

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS , ETC:
* Some nights and weekends required
* Local travel may be required (valid driver’s license necessary)
* May be required to be able to lift and move 40 pounds
* May be required to be able to climb stairs, ladders

ADMINISTRATIVE CONDITIONS
* Final compensation offered is based on applicants’ experience, potential, level of specialization, and is determined by Berklee HR.
* Accepted candidates will join Berklee’s payroll and submit hours worked via Workday as appropriate.
** Hourly Rate:** $22
