Job Overview

Performance Services, part of Boston Conservatory at Berklee, seeks a temporary Production Coordinator to manage and execute multiple production aspects of two off‑campus productions in Spring 2026. The productions are the Commercial Dance showcase at the Huntington Theater in early February and an Opera production at the Calderwood Pavilion in April. The role will work closely with the Performance Services team, Dance and Music divisions, and staff at the Huntington and Calderwood theatres to ensure a smooth and successful production experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and communicate daily schedules while on‑site, in consultation with stage manager and other production staff.
  • Schedule, prepare agendas, and actively participate in relevant production meetings.
  • Attend and coordinate design or logistical meetings as needed.
  • Communicate with guest designers and creative team members to ensure adherence to deadlines, material budgets, and the artistic vision.
  • Attend required rehearsals, including tech and dress rehearsals.
  • Oversee production crew needs, ensuring adequate staff is present at required calls, including load‑in and notes.
  • Track production budgets, ensuring items are entered correctly and timely.
  • Coordinate and set‑up company meals as needed.
  • Coordinate company transportation as needed (no transportation to, from, or within NYC).
  • Participate in post‑production meetings and other activities as required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.A. in dance, music, theater or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3‑5 years of professional experience in the performing arts as a production manager, technical director, stage manager, company manager, or similar role.
  • Experience working with and training students in a higher education environment.
  • Familiarity with Commercial Dance and/or Opera production best practices.
  • Familiarity with the Huntington Theater and/or Calderwood Pavilion is preferred.

Work Environment
  • Indoor environments, some with low light: office space, stages, backstage areas, dressing rooms, storage spaces, costume shop.

  • Ability to lift objects of up to 30 pounds.
  • Some nights and weekends.
Compensation & Travel

Expected hiring range $26‑31 per hour. The position does not include a travel or housing stipend; applicants will be expected to secure their own housing and transportation for on‑site days as needed. Variable schedule with pre‑production work able to be completed remotely. Required in‑person dates:
February 2‑8 and March 30‑April 19.
