The Boston Symphony Orchestra is seeking candidates for the Principal Trumpet position. Interested applicants must submit their resumes by November 2, 2026. Live auditions are scheduled for January 4-5, 2027, with repertoire lists to be announced later. A digital audio recording may be required to supplement the application, but applicants should not send it at this time. Further details will be provided via email within a week after the Final date to receive applications.
Employment will commence as soon as the selected candidate's availability aligns with the Boston Symphony Orchestra's schedule. If a current member of the BSO wins the position, the resulting vacancy may be offered to the runner-up. The Audition Committee reserves the right to dismiss any candidate who does not meet the highest professional standards during the auditions.
