Salary: $20.13 – $25.40 hourly (Grade 44). The range reflects our good faith estimate and may be adjusted based on departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and internal pay comparison.

Position Type:
Full-Time/Regular

The Dental Assistant is an integral member of the Pre-Doctoral Group Practice team, providing support to the student(s) for quality dental care. The assistant demonstrates strong clinical skills by practicing four-handed dentistry, preparing operatories for treatment, ensuring operatories are cleaned and disinfected between each patient, and setting up for the next patient. Instrument cassettes are prepared for sterilization according to established protocol.

Responsibilities
  • Organize and coordinate inventory of supplies to avoid shortages, restock cabinets when indicated, and provide coverage during evening and Saturday clinic hours.
  • Show compassion, understanding, and empathy towards patients during treatment.
  • Foster excellent interpersonal skills, promote teamwork among staff and faculty, and strive to make each phase of patient treatment a positive experience from initial appointment through completion of dental care.
Required Skills
  • 1 to 3 years of experience and high school diploma or GED required.
  • Dental Assistant certification required.
