Job Summary Provides clinical and administrative support to the dental care team while delivering a positive, patient-centered experience. Responsibilities include assisting with dental procedures, taking dental radiographs, supporting patient education, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with scheduling and other day-to-day dental office operations. • Collaborates with dental hygienists and the dental care team to support patient care and clinical procedures.
• Accurately documents treatment information and maintains complete patient records.
• Performs dental radiographs and assists with the proper care and maintenance of dental X-ray equipment.
• Educates patients on dental hygiene, oral health care, and effective plaque control practices.
• Collects and documents medical and dental histories, as well as patient vital signs.
• Provides patients with clear postoperative care instructions as directed by the dentist.
• Assists with ordering dental supplies and maintaining dental equipment and supply inventory.
• Assists with fabricating temporary restorations and creating custom impressions from preliminary impressions.
• Supports appointment scheduling, record management, and other administrative activities as needed.

Skills and Abilities

Completion of a Dental Hygiene Program. Comfortable using computers and electronic systems to support patient care and daily office operations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and members of the dental care team. Professional, positive, and patient-focused approach. Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality patient care. Familiarity with dental practice management systems, electronic charting, and digital radiography is preferred.
