Adjunct Faculty - Health Psychology

Description

General Overview

The School of Arts and Sciences seeks adjunct faculty to teach two sections of Health Psychology on our Boston campus during Spring 2026. The courses meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am-9:15am and 9:30am-10:45am. Course description:
This course provides an overview of the perspective, theories, and topics of health psychology, focusing on the psychosocial factors in the understanding of the relationship of health to behavior.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver didactic, laboratory and/or experiential instruction via multiple formats (in-person, online, or in a ‘blended' format)
  • Provide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the School, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria
  • Provide engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered.
  • Uses the University's learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with students
  • Advises and assists students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by video conference, phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms
  • Provides service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessment
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor
Requirements

Required

  • Minimum of a master's degree in Health Sciences, Public Health or related field
  • Minimum of one year of teaching experience at the college/university level
  • Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and/or professional education and student success
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)
  • Experience teaching health care-focused students preferred
Compensation

The pay range associated with this posting reflects the amount the University reasonably expects to pay for this role at this time. Salary offers are determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications as well as internal equity, market data and pay in comparison to similarly situated employees doing comparable work.

Hiring Range: $5900.00
