This is a general administrator application for the 2026-27 school year, covering the following potential positions:
- Dean of Curriculum and Instruction
- Dean of Special Education
- Dean of Students
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving on UP Academy’s Leadership Team and reporting to the Principal.
- Managing and developing teachers within the assigned portfolio or department.
- Planning professional development and leading team efforts to build a positive, structured, caring, and disciplined school culture.
- Ensuring the integrity of the academic program for assigned content areas, grade levels, or special education services.
- Collaborating closely with the School Coordinator of Special Education and the Network Director of Student Support (for the Dean of Special Education).
- Overseeing staff orientation and assignment of professional responsibility for student services and program implementation.
- Strong belief in UP Education Network’s core values:
Teamwork, Integrity, Growth, Engagement, and Resilience. - Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Three years of teaching experience required; 2+ years of school leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in leading within a diverse environment.
- Valid Massachusetts Teaching License as a Principal/Assistant Principal with PreK-8 and SEI Endorsement.
- Current authorization to work in the United States (must have authorization by the first day of employment).
Salary scales and placement follow each UP Academy’s host school district or state turnaround plan. Compensation details are aligned with the relevant union’s collective bargaining agreement. As an employee of UP Academy and your respective school district, you will receive the same access to personal and sick days, health insurance, and dental insurance as other union members.
