Responsibilities:
Manage the operation of a residential community ranging between 280 and 475 residential students.
Support the Division of Student Affairs, in ensuring ongoing recognition of student rights, responsibilities, and expectations by implementing campus policies and coordinating related procedures.
Support and advance initiatives within Housing and Residential Education and the Division of Student Affairs through participation in projects and committees.
The Division of Student Affairs is committed to its vision of Every Student Thrives through the creation of student engagement opportunities and a holistic view of the student experience. Housing and Residential Education contributes to that vision through creating a robust educational and intentional residential experience for students. This includes learning communities and holistic program offerings. Housing and Residential Education staff also support students in their operational needs through coordinating move-in and move-out processes and collaborating with university partners on facility management.
Work collaboratively with campus partners to foster a strong sense of belonging within Living Learning Communities and other residential education initiatives.
Fulfill responsibilities relating to operations and building management of residential community.
Collaborate with campus partners to ensure ongoing recognition of student rights, responsibilities, and expectations. Promote student compliance with policies and procedures, including those reflected in the student code of conduct, by facilitating student conduct meetings and coordinating conduct related sanctions.
** Supervision of Residential Community Staff – 15%
** Provide guidance, mentorship, and support for job related responsibilities including resident interaction, roommate mediation, programming, etc.:
Assist with CA selection; provide support and leadership for CA training and development initiatives throughout the academic year through the lenses of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, as well as student development theories/residential curriculum.:
Provide guidance, planning, and implementation of Thematic Communities (LEAPs), assist with Community Development Model and Residential Curriculum through lenses of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, as well as student development theories.
Other duties as assigned.
** Requirements:
** Strong interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated time management and/or project management skills Experience in supervising, student paraprofessionals, and/or student leaders Experience using Student Development Theories in an educational setting
Education Requirements:
Master’s Degree required in higher education, student affairs, or related field preferred.
Experience
Required:
Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience, preferably in residential education. A master’s degree may be substituted for professional experience.
