Optometrist Vision Screening Instructor, Adjunct Faculty – Part Time
Join the New England College of Optometry as a part‑time adjunct instructor in our School Screening Program, a key component of the Patient Care I (PCI) Course.
OverviewAs a Screening Instructor you will lead first‑year students in weekly morning screening sessions at local Boston‑area schools during the Fall and/or Spring semesters. Generally two instructors are paired with ten students in each 4‑hour session.
Responsibilities- Conduct up to five 4‑hour screening sessions per week, with a 1‑hour administrative component.
- Collaborate with the Patient Care I Instructor of Record and the Dean of Academic Affairs.
- Participate in onboarding and clearance procedures required to work in public schools.
- Contribute to curriculum development and student assessment for the screening program.
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree. If not yet licensed, currently in the process of obtaining optometric licensure in Massachusetts.
- Basic precepting or teaching experience is desirable but not required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
$400 per session (per diem/supplemental basis).
