DescriptionThe School of Medical Imaging and Therapeutics seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences and education for students in the BS in Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Echocardiography. The selected candidate will have responsibilities teaching lab instruction. Subject matters may include parasternal long axis, parasternal short axis, apical views, doppler, and strain.
- Delivers laboratory instruction via multiple formats in-person in the BS in Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Echocardiography.
- Provides students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the School, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria.
- Provides engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered.
- Uses the University's learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with students.
- Advises and assists students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by video conference, phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms.
- Provides service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessment.
- Teach introductory scanning techniques, imaging protocols may include parasternal long axis, parasternal short axis, apical views, doppler, and strain.
- Provide feedback to students on protocols and quizzes and exams.
- Work as a team with colleagues to instruct the students and manage the lab activities.
- Proctor classes, quizzes, and exams.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.
- Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred.
- Certification from the ARDMS or CCI in Adult Echocardiography.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in echocardiography.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of teaching experience at the college/university level in the clinical environment, lab or classroom.
- Commitment to undergraduate, graduate and/or professional education and student success.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals).

CompensationThe pay range associated with this posting reflects the amount the University reasonably expects to pay for this role at this time. Salary offers are determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications as well as internal equity, market data and pay in comparison to similarly situated employees doing comparable work.
